Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College

The Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community chartered the college on July 12, 1975 to provide higher educational programs on the L'Anse Indian Reservation in a culturally sensitive environment, which promotes our rich Ojibwa culture and tradition. Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College's mission is to offer culturally relevant post-secondary degree programs that graduate confident, lifelong learners who understand their relationship to the world and who possess the skills, attitudes, and abilities necessary to be successful.

The Board of Regents aspires to provide an education designed to promote the preservation of the customs and beliefs of the Ojibwa people. In education and knowledge, traditional values are integrated to foster understanding and to prepare students for responsible citizenship, academic competence, and career success.
