Tribal Colleges - MT Blackfeet Community College
Located on the Blackfeet Reservation, Blackfeet Community College had an enrollment of 518 in the fall of 2005. Chartered in 1974, the college’s first classes were held in an abandoned skating rink and a garage that flooded in the winter and housed snakes and rodents in the spring. Following Campaign Sii Ha Sin, students have new buildings, state-of-the-art labs and classrooms. The college offers 6 AA degrees; 4 AS degrees; 6 AAS degrees and 3 certificates. BCC offers on-line classes in the Fall and Spring semesters, and will be starting AS degrees in Environmental Science and Forestry with certificates in Fire Management; Gerontology, Coaching and Blackfeet Advocacy. These programs help the colleges meet their goals of promoting educational opportunities, increasing the educational level of their students and advancing knowledge and pride in Blackfeet heritage. Applicants can download the BCC application on-line. Blackfeet Community CollegeP.O. Box 819 Browning, MT 59417 www.bfcc.org 1-800-549-7457 |
