The American Indian College Fund is not accepting special tribal college scholarship applications. Students will be notified by Mid-August.

Sovereign Nations Scholarship Fund
The Sovereign Nations Scholarship Fund Endowment (SNSFE) is a permanent endowment established by the American Indian College Fund and primarily supported by American Indian Nations and American Indian-owned businesses.  Other corporations, foundations, and individual donors have also generously contributed to this noteworthy campaign.  The Fund will award $ 2,000 scholarships to American Indian students. Upon completion of their degree students are encouraged to work for their tribe or an Indian organization to help improve the livelihood of Native people. To be eligible for the Sovereign Nations Scholarship you must:
  • Have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement by having a 3.0 or higher G.P.A.;
  • Be pursing an advanced degree ( MA, MS, J.D., Ph.D., MD, other)
  • Commit to working for your tribe or an Indian organization upon completion of your degree:
  • Enroll full-time in a degree program at a mainstream institution or the 08-09 academic year;
  • Be American Indian or Alaskan Native with proof of enrollment or descendancy.

Vine Deloria Jr. Memorial Scholarship
American Indian history was forever changed with the passing of Vine Deloria, Jr. on November 13, 2005. A prolific writer, social critic, theologian, activist and scholar, Deloria was arguably the most prominent and influential American Indian voice of the 20 th Century. In partnership with the Deloria family, the American Indian College Fund is pleased to award the Vine Deloria, Jr. Memorial Scholarship program to pay tribute to his legacy. Each year, the Fund will award American Indian students who are pursing a graduate level degree.

To be considered for the scholarship you must be:

  • Be pursing an advanced degree ( MA, MS, J.D., Ph.D., MD, other)
  • Able to demonstrate financial need;
  • Be American Indian or Alaskan Native with proof of enrollment or descendancy.
