Success can be a complicated term to define for many students because student success is entirely dependent upon the goals and values that are set by each individual. Helping students to identify their goals and placing important academic and non-academic support programs to aid them in accomplishing their goals is the priority of Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College’s (SCTC) GED Program.
For Joe, achieving a GED was a tough journey. He had faced many challenges along his path before deciding that completing his GED would be his focus. Imagining all of the changes that he could make by earning his GED, Joe registered for SCTC’s GED Program in November of 2020. Although he had been out of school for a number of years, Joe’s pretest scores were high, and he was determined to finish studying and pass the test.
Through his hard work and determination, Joe completed his GED prep solutions assignments utilizing the self-paced, online GED prep program provided by SCTC. He was ready to test in record time. By May of 2021, Joe felt confident enough to take the final test and received his GED credential. He now has the confidence in his academic abilities and the support of SCTC to move forward with his educational journey by registering for college courses this fall.
SCTC’s GED Program’s priority is to help students discover what success means to them and place them on a path to achieve it. Whether students value tradition, community, connection, family, adventure, creativity, or anything else, SCTC’s GED program’s goal is to provide all of its students with the support that will help them with any challenge they encounter during their journey.
