Denver, Colo. – The American Indian College Fund (the Fund) was awarded $50,000 from the Allstate Foundation, which launches the Allstate Foundation Tribal College Scholarship Program. This program is providing scholarship support to American Indian students pursuing higher education at tribal colleges and universities during the spring 2011 semester.

Over the last decade, the Allstate Foundation has supported a number of initiatives at the Fund, including cultural exchange and leadership development programs; and the American Indian College Fund’s annual Flame of Hope Gala, which raises money for Native students and increases awareness about the nation’s tribal colleges and universities.

“We take our role as a corporate citizen seriously and focus on social issues where we can have meaningful impact,” said Vicky Dinges, assistant vice president of public social responsibility for Allstate. “The Allstate Foundation draws on Allstate’s cross-country network of employees and agency owners to deliver the skills, resources and services needed to prepare and protect Americans.”

“Allstate has partnered with the American Indian College Fund in a variety of capacities, from serving on our board of directors to providing funding for this scholarship program,” said Richard B. Williams, President and CEO of the American Indian College Fund. “We are honored to continue this partnership that will have a profound impact on the Native students working hard to improve the lives of themselves, their families, and their communities.”
