The College Fund’s Faculty Development Office, with generous support from the Henry Luce Foundation, regularly hosts writing retreats for tribal college/university (TCU) faculty. These two-day virtual writing retreats provide TCU faculty the time to work on their writing projects in community with other faculty members. Each writing retreat is facilitated by an Indigenous scholar who has extensive writing and editing experience and who has mentored doctoral students and other writers.

We invite you to attend our writing retreats in the spring of 2025! Our retreats are open to all TCU faculty (i.e., full-time faculty and adjunct instructors).

WHAT: Each writing retreat is open to 12 faculty members working on a writing project (e.g., dissertation, journal manuscript, creative piece, book manuscript)

SPRING 2025 DATES:

      • Retreat 1: February 6-7, 2025
      • Retreat 2: April 3-4, 2025

TIME: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm MT each day (8-2 PT / 10-4 CT / 11-5 ET)

AGENDA: The facilitator will guide the group through timed writing blocks interspersed with short breaks. If you get stuck or want a thought partner, you can meet with the facilitator privately in a breakout room. There may be an optional, topic-specific discussion during the two days, but you will spend most of the time writing.

FORMAT: These writing retreats are held on Zoom.

APPLY: We invite full-time faculty members and adjunct instructors to join us! Space is limited to 12 people at each retreat. Priority will be given to faculty receiving a College Fund fellowship or working on a dissertation. There is no registration fee.
