About National Transfer Student Week
National Transfer Student Week is organized by the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS). It aims to provide support and resources for transfer students across the country. This year’s event will be packed with insightful webinars, videos, and advice for students planning to transfer to Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) or non-TCU institutions.
Our Goals
For Students
- Provide support to Native scholars planning to transfer.
- Equip scholars with resources for a smooth transfer process.
- Promote mental wellness strategies for a healthy semester.
For Tribal Colleges & Universities
- Increase visibility of TCUs nationally.
- Standardize and strengthen transfer resources across all campuses.

Toolbox Launch
The “Toolbox for Scholars” will be made available to help students navigate their transfer process, including resources on transfer terminology, scholarships, and wellness.
Day 2:
Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024
Transferring 101 Webinar
Time: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm MDT
Platform: Zoom Webinar
- Confirmed Speaker: Grace Salcido-Siquieros
- Purpose: Provide essential information and tips for students transferring to TCUs or non-TCU institutions.

A final wrap-up video highlighting the week’s success stories and key takeaways for transfer students.

Grant Funding for TCUs
$2,000 in grant funding has been awarded to Tribal Colleges to support their on-campus events for transfer students. Funds may be used for event hosting, augmenting resources, or compensating for campus site visits.
