Chartered in 1979, SWC serves the 105,000-acre Lake Traverse Reservation, home to the Sisseton and Wahpeton bands of the Dakota people. The nursing program is approved by the SD Board of Nursing. SWC offers specialized programs in chemical dependency and cross-cultural counseling alongside Dakota studies.
