Manuscript Writing Retreat Application

Are you ready to publish your research in a peer-reviewed journal and share it with a wider audience?

Do you need dedicated writing time and mentorship to turn your dissertation or research paper into a high-quality manuscript?

Do you want insider tips about getting published from TCU faculty and Native scholars who have done it?

Apply to join us for the next Manuscript Writing Retreat!

The College Fund’s Faculty Development Office, with generous support from the Henry Luce Foundation, is hosting the 9th Manuscript Writing Retreat for tribal college and university (TCU) faculty on January 10-11, 2024. These two-day virtual writing retreats provide up to 8 faculty the opportunity to receive mentorship and training on:

    • transitioning from writing a dissertation to writing journal articles
    • developing a manuscript for publication
    • conducting and writing a literature review
    • Indigenous research methodologies
    • the journal submission process
    • translating your research into presentations

Applications will be reviewed by a small committee and faculty will be notified about the status of their application by Thursday, December 21. Faculty accepted to the retreat must attend both days in full and submit a draft manuscript or detailed outline within one week of acceptance.

To better support your long-term writing and publishing goals, we are offering this as a two-part retreat. This means that faculty accepted to the January retreat will be automatically accepted to our next writing retreat in April or May (date TBD soon). The next retreat will probably take place in person. Although priority will be given to applicants who want to attend both retreats, please apply even if you can attend only this retreat.
