4-H Youth In Action Scholarship
Sharing the stories of 4‑H’ers who make a difference in their communities.

AAUW Women’s Fellowships and Grants
One of the world’s largest sources of funding for graduate women, AAUW is providing $3.9 million in funding for fellowships and grants to 250 outstanding women and nonprofit organizations.

ACS Scholars Program
ACS awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry-related fields. American Indian high school seniors or college freshman, sophomores, or juniors pursuing a college degree in the chemical sciences or chemical technology are eligible to apply. Deadline: March 1st.

Actuarial Foundation – STEM Stars Actuarial Scholars Program
The actuarial profession has a diversity challenge. Research shows dramatic disparities in career attainment for minorities. The Society of Actuaries (SOA) and Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) estimate that only 2.7% and 1.5%, respectively, of U.S. members are Black. Latinx members only make up 1.9% and 1.8%, and Native American members are only 0.5% of the total CAS membership in the U.S. The STEM Stars Actuarial Scholars Program was created to help increase diversity in the actuarial profession.

AICPA Scholarship Award for Minority Accounting Students
This scholarship award provides financial awards to full-time minority students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or an accounting-related major. Applicants must have a GPA of at least a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship
assists high school seniors who have completed an advanced placement computer science course continue their education at an accredited four-year college. Winners receive $10,000 per year and a paid summer internship at Amazon after their freshman year.

American Indian Society for Engineers and Scientists (AISES) Scholarships
AISES helps students move forward in their educational journeys by providing a wide range of programs and scholarship opportunities. AISES scholarships help students acquire skills and training that will help them meet the unique STEM needs of our communities.

American Rivers Northern Rockies Indigenous Scholarship
One $1500 award | Open to Indigenous artists, writers, leaders, students, and communicators | For Freeflow experiences in Idaho or Montana

American Rivers Southwest Emerging Artist Scholarship
Full tuition award | Open to anyone with ties to the Southwest | For Freeflow experiences in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, or Colorado

American Whitewater Scholarship
Three $1000 awards | Open to all people with ideas for protecting rivers | For any 2023 Freeflow experience

American Prairie Scholarship
Full student tuition ($1685) open to anyone | Open to anyone who encounters barriers to education or outdoor experiences, with preference given to Indigenous students | 2023 Law of People and Place course

Albert W. Dent Graduate Student Scholarship
Offered annually, the Albert W. Dent Graduate Student Scholarship is designated for minority students enrolled in their final year of a healthcare management graduate program. Deadline: March 31st

Albuquerque Community Foundation Scholarships
The Albuquerque Community Foundation has 18 separate scholarship and student aid programs to help New Mexico residents attain their educational goals.

American Library Association (ALA) Scholarships
The American Library Association (ALA) is committed to promoting and advancing the librarian profession. They provide $300,000 annually for study in a master’s degree in library and information studies from an ALA accredited program.

American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC)
The American Indian Graduate Center provides fellowships to American Indian and Alaska Native graduate students throughout the United States. They also offer undergraduate opportunities for Native scholars. Deadline: Varies

American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES)
The mission of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is to substantially increase the representation of American Indians and Alaskan Natives in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) studies and careers. They offer a variety of STEM-related scholarships and professional development opportunities. Deadline: Varies

American Indian Services Scholarships
The mission of the American Indian Services is to assist Native Americans in developing their human and natural resources in order to help them make a contribution to society without detracting from the culture and background from which they have emerge through a variety of scholarship opportunities. Deadline: Varies

American Planning Association Scholarships
Women and minority (African American, Hispanic American, or Native American) students enrolled in an approved Planning Accreditation Board (PAB) planning program who are citizens of the United States, intend to pursue careers as practicing planners in the public sector, and are able to demonstrate a genuine financial need are eligible to apply for this scholarship which will range between $2,000 to $4,000. Deadline: April 30th

American Water Works Association Scholarships
Sponsored by CH2M, this scholarship encourages and supports outstanding female and/or minority masters’ students in pursuit of advanced training in the field of water supply and treatment. Deadline: January 11th

Army Emergency Relief (AER) Scholarships
Spouses and Children of Soldiers who are on Active Duty, are Retired, or Active on Title 10 Orders for the entire academic year are eligible to apply for our scholarship programs.

Avera Health Scholarships
Avera believes in the value of education and offers a variety of scholarships to assist students and employees with their pursuit of knowledge.

Boom & Bucket’s Student Scholarship Program
Boom & Bucket is offering a scholarship of $1,000 to be awarded each year to a student pursuing a heavy machinery themed program. This scholarship is available to both currently enrolled students and future students who are planning to attend a program within the next 12 months. The program can be at a college or a trade school anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Brewed to be Bright Scholarship
$2,500 is available to students at least 21-years-old attending HACU institutions in select states. August Deadline

Brown and Caldwell Minority Scholarship
This is a $5,000 Minority Scholarship Program to help minority groups succeed in the environmental engineering industry. Deadline: April 15th

Caleb Scholars Scholarship for Alaska Natives
The Caleb Scholars Program supports outstanding Alaska Native students from Alaska’s Arctic regions who are pursuing marine conservation-related education and careers. Deadline July 31

CANFIT Scholarships
Undergraduate and graduate scholarships are available for California African-American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Asian American, Pacific Islander or Latino/Hispanic students expressing financial need to study nutrition, physical education or culinary arts in the state of California. Deadline: March 31st

Catching the Dream
Catching the Dream, formerly known as the Native American Scholarship Fund, makes grants to Native college students and works to improve Indian schools through a variety of scholarship programs. Deadline: Varies

Cherokee Nation Scholarships
The Cherokee Nation’s College Resource Program awards scholarships to selected Cherokee Nation Tribal Citizens pursuing degrees at a colleges or university accredited with Carnegie units. Deadline: June 15th

Chickasaw Nation Scholarships
Chickasaw citizens pursuing higher education from accredited institutions are eligible to receive various grants and scholarships to assist with the cost of tuition, books and fees. Deadline: Varies

Cleveland Foundation Scholarships
The Cleveland Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to eligible applicants. While most are for graduating high school seniors attending institutions of higher learning, others enable individuals to pursue vocational training and professional development opportunities.

Cobell Scholarship
Scholarships in various amounts are awarded to U.S. Federally-recognized American Indian and Alaska Native community members (students) who are vocational certificate-seeking or associate, bachelor, graduate and professional degree-seeking students in full-time, accredited, non-profit institutions in the United States; and who are able to demonstrate financial need.

College Board Scholarship
Applying to college is a complicated process, so we’ve created a program that guides you through it. It doesn’t require an essay, application, or minimum GPA. Instead, it rewards your effort and initiative. Complete key steps along your path to college for a chance to earn scholarships.

Continental Society Daughters of Indian Wars
This scholarship requires students to be an enrolled tribal member and plan to work with a tribe or nation in the field of Education or Social Service. Deadline: June 15th

Dell Scholars
All Dell Scholars have overcome significant personal challenges in their pursuit of higher education. The financial award helps students with various education expenses, and the Dell Scholars is a college completion program that provides students with key supports they need to obtain a college degree.

Department of Energy Scholars Program
Explore career possibilities with the nation’s leading sponsor for scientific research. Student stipend – minimum of $600 per week, with travel reimbursement of inbound and outbound costs up to $1,000 for participants who live more than fifty miles, one-way, from the assigned hosting site

Daughters of the Revolution, American Indian Scholarships
This scholarship is awarded to help Native Americans students of any age, any tribe and in any state striving to get an education at the undergraduate or graduate levels. However, undergraduate students are given preference. All awards are judged based on financial need and academic achievement. Deadline: February 15th

Do Something Community Service Scholarships
Every month, Do Something offers scholarships to students 13-25 for community service.

Environmental Stewardship of Indigenous Lands Scholarship (Univ of Colorado Denver)
Funded by the National Science Foundation’s S-STEM program, ESIL scholarships are available for full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the ESIL certificate program and majoring in biology, civil engineering, or environmental sciences.

Fontana Transport Inc. Scholars Program
This scholarship seeks low income, underrepresented, and first generation college prospects who are passionate about furthering their education as a means to help out their family, community and themselves. Deadline: March 15th

Freeport-McMoran Native American Scholarship
This program is open to students who are members of the Hualapai, San Carlos Apache, Tohono O’odham and White Mountain Apache tribes and attending community colleges, tribal colleges and four-year universities. The scholarships are funded by the Freeport-McMoran Foundation and administered by College Success Arizona. Deadline June 15

Future Farmers of America (FFA) Scholarships
Through the National FFA Foundation, businesses and individuals sponsor scholarships that are awarded to students with a wide variety of higher education plans and career goals.

Gates Scholarship
The Gates Millennium Scholars is a scholarship program is funded by a $1.6 billion grant by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. For Native American students, this program is administered through the American Indian Graduate Center. Deadline: September

Great River Teacher Corps Scholarship for Rural Teachers
Receive $4,000 a year to train as a teacher at Western Illinois University and serve a rural community!

Greenhouse Scholars
Be a graduating high school senior with a financial need planning to attend a four-year accredited academic institution, and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a legal resident of Colorado, Georgia, Illinois or North Carolina with an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above

Hertz Community Scholarship Program
This program to assist students full-time students, who are residents in the San Francisco Bay Area, Hawaii, Salt Lake City, Boston, Denver and Minneapolis.

Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program
As one of the nation’s largest college financial aid programs in the country, the Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is one of the major scholarship programs nationally that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives.

HRSA National Health Service Corps
This program provides scholarships and loan repayment to students training to become health care workers.

Illinois Pork Producers Scholarships
3 different scholarships are available to students studying, or seeking a career in agriculture.

Indian Health Services (IHS) Scholarships
The Indian Health Service (IHS) offers three scholarships for American Indian and Alaska Native students in order to train health professionals to staff Indian health programs. Deadline: March 28th

Intereligious Foudation for Community Organizers Medicine in Cuba
This program provides FREE medical training to college students who have met specific science course requirements in their bachelors student work

Iowa Nursing Scholarships
IHCA Foundation is an affiliate of the Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) that represents more than 700 Iowa long-term care providers that sponsor a number of nursing scholarships. Deadline May 31.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarships
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s scholarship programs are designed to encourage and support outstanding students who work hard and have financial need. They also offer scholarships for students transferring from a 2-year to a 4-year program. Deadline: Varies

Journalism Scholarships

LAGRANT Foundation
The LAGRANT Foundation (TLF) provides 15 scholarships annually to ethnically diverse minority undergraduate and graduate students who are attending accredited institutions and are pursuing careers in the fields of advertising, marketing or public relations. Deadline: February 28th

LGBTQ Point Foundation Scholarship
Point Foundation (Point) is the nation’s largest higher education scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) students. Point’s multifaceted support of its scholarship recipients (“scholars”) extends far beyond direct financial contribution toward the cost of their education.

LITA/LSSI Minority Scholarship
The scholarship is designed to encourage the entry of qualified persons into the library and automation field who plan to follow a career in that field; who demonstrate potential in, and a strong commitment to the use of automated systems in libraries; and who are qualified members of a principal minority group. Deadline: March 1st

Maureen L. and Howard N. Blitman, P.E., Scholarship to Promote Diversity in Engineering
This scholarship is awarded annually to a high school senior from an ethnic minority who has been accepted into an ABET-accredited engineering program at a four-year college or university. Deadline: March 1st

Minnesota Indian Scholarship Program
The Minnesota Indian Scholarship Program provides post-secondary financial assistance to eligible Minnesota resident students who are of one-fourth or more Indian ancestry and demonstrate financial need for an award. Deadline: July 1st

Montana State University Nursing Scholarships
The funding will be used for Montana Advantage Nursing Scholarships, which aim to keep American Indian and Alaska Native students in school and increase their graduation rates.

NABI College Scholarship
This fund was created to aid NABI alumni with the hopes of seeing a higher presence of Native Americans earning college degrees.

National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME)
NACME is responsible for more than $4 million in scholarships awarded annually to underrepresented minority (URM) students and expects to support approximately 1,300 underrepresented minority engineering students in 2016. Deadline: Varies

National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development
This scholarship program is for full-time junior, senior, or graduate-level business students. Deadline: TBA

National Dairy Shrine Scholarships

National Medical Fellowships: Scholarships
National Medical Fellowships offers a number of scholarship programs that are awarded on the basis of need and merit to Native American and other underrepresented minority students. Deadline: TBA

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
This organization provides financial assistance, through competitive processes, to students and Minority Serving Institutions that support the training of students and research in NOAA mission sciences. Deadline: Varies

Native Agriculture and Food Systems (NAFSI) Scholarship Program
First Nations will award six $1,000 scholarships annually to Native American college students majoring in agriculture and agriculture-related fields, including but not limited to: agribusiness management, agriscience technologies, agronomy, animal husbandry, aquaponics, fisheries and wildlife, food production and safety, food-related policy and legislation, horticulture, irrigation science, plant-based nutrition, and sustainable agriculture or food systems. Native American Fish & Wildlife Society Scholarships
NAFWS provides various scholarships to full-time undergraduate and graduate Native students that are attending an accredited college/university and are majoring in the fields of natural resources and environmental sciences.

Native American Journalists Association (NAJA)
Each year, NAJA offers scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,500 to Native American students pursuing journalism degrees at a higher learning institution. Deadline: TBA

Native American Scholarship Program
Since 2011, the New Mexico Gas Company Native American Scholarship Program (NASP) has awarded $384,000 to 205 Native American students pursuing most any form of post-secondary education.

Navajo Energy Scholarship

Navajo Nation Scholarship and Financial Assistance
This scholarship serves eligible Navajo people and provides students the opportunity to achieve their educational goals. This opportunity is provided as a privilege with the intent that recipients, upon graduation, will return to the Navajo Nation to apply their learning to benefit the continuing development of the Navajo Nation. Nordson BUILDS Scholarship Program (Manufacturing)
Nordson BUILDS offers $2-10K scholarships to attract and develop a diverse, highly-skilled talent pool for careers in the manufacturing industry. It is designed to help bright and motivated students access and complete postsecondary education by lessening the financial barriers of enrolling in college.

NSCDA American Indian Nurse Scholarship Awards

President Barack Obama Scholars Program (Arizona State University)
ASU is proud to promote equal access to education for all Arizonans through programs like the President Barack Obama Scholars Program.

Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship
The Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is a need-based award granted to a high school senior from a recognized minority background who will be playing golf at the collegiate level. Qualifications for all scholarships include strong academic programs, community service and recommendations. Deadline: TBA

Questbridge Scholarships
College Match Scholarship Recipients are granted admission to one of QuestBridge’s partner colleges with a full, four-year scholarship worth over $200,000 each. Our college partners use a combination of their own funds as well as state and federal aid to fund the scholarship.

The Rankin Foundation Scholarship
The Rankin Foundation Native Woman Scholar Grant provides up to 60 unrestricted Scholar Grants to Native Women attending the Montana Tribal Colleges. Theses unrestricted non-tuition Native Woman Grants are dedicated to women and nonbinary students at Montana Tribal Colleges who are 25 and older, demonstrate financial need, are pursuing a technical or vocational education, an associate’s degree or a first bachelor’s degree and can show proof of enrollment in a Montana Tribal College, Tribal affiliation and Pell/SNAP eligibility.

Rochester University “Embracing Diversity” Scholarships
Rochester University offers 3 different scholarships to support Native students attending their school.

Sinclair Diversity Scholarship
$5,000 scholarship for broadcast, journalism or marketing students in California, Montana, Idaho, Oregon or Wyoming.

Society of American Indian Government Employees (SAIGE) Member Scholarships
SAIGE offers a number of different scholarships for American Indian or Alaska Native government employees and students for professional development, annual training, or continuing education. Deadline: September 30th

Society for American Archaeology Native American Scholarships
The Native American Scholarships Fund is an endowment established to foster a sense of shared purpose and positive interaction between archaeologists and Native Americans. Scholarships are open to all Native peoples from anywhere in the Americas, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and Indigenous Pacific Islanders. Deadline: December 15th

A $1,000 academic award is being offered to any LGBTQ+ student who is pursuing their undergraduate college degree through the LGBTQ+ Student Scholarship from Study.com. Study.com’s mission is to make education accessible, and we hope to make earning a college degree more accessible through this scholarship.

The Truman D. Picard Scholarship Program is dedicated to the support of Native American students pursuing a higher education in Natural Resources. Deadline: January 11th

Truman State University First Americans Scholarship
The First Americans Scholarship is awarded to a Native American student. It includes tuition, room and board. The scholarship is renewable with a new recipient selected every four years.

Udall Foundation
This foundation awards scholarships to sophomore and junior level college students committed to careers related to the environment, tribal public policy, or Native American health care.

United South and Eastern Tribes (USET) Scholarship Fund
The USET Education Committee will award all selected undergraduate applicants an equal amount in any award period, in increments of no less than $750. In addition, the USET Education Committee will award all selected graduate applicants an equal amount in any award period, in increments of no less than $1,000. Students must be enrolled members of one of the 26 USET Member Tribes. Deadline: April 30th

University of Arkansas Manning Memorial Scholarship
Students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate online degree programs must complete the scholarship application and essay. Students must demonstrate financial need, academic merit or significant community service. Preference will be given to first-generation higher education seekers and Arkansas residents.

USRA Space Scholarship Awards
$5,000 awards are available college juniors and seniors with interest in science or engineering with an emphasis on space research, education and aeronautics. August Deadline

Washington Indian Gaming Association
The WIGA College Scholarship Program is designed to promote tribal self-sufficiency by providing scholarships for Native American students in Washington seeking to advance their own self-sufficiency and broaden their personal and professional potential through higher education. Applicants must be students who are enrolled members of one of Washington’s 29 federally recognized tribes or who are enrolled members of a federally recognized tribes outside of Washington, but are attending school in Washington State. Deadline: March 31st

Wells Fargo Scholarship Program for People with Disabilities
This program provides renewable scholarships up to $2,500 for full-time students and up to $1,250 for half-time students who have an identified disability (defined as someone who has, or considers themselves to have, a long-term or recurring condition that impacts one or more major life activity). Applications for this program are open through April 10, 2023

Wells Fargo Veterans Scholarship
This scholarship program is to help meet the needs of veterans after military benefits and other grants and scholarships have been packaged by their school. Applicants must be an honorably discharged veteran of the United States military, or the spouse or widow of a service disabled veteran, and must be a high school or GED graduate. The program will award renewable scholarships of up to $5,000 per year. Deadline to apply for the scholarship is April 10, 2023.

Wells Fargo Veterans Emergency Grant Program
The emergency grant program helps veterans already enrolled in postsecondary education who might otherwise be forced to drop out of college because of unforeseen financial emergencies. Grants will be available for a one-time distribution up to $1,000 based on the cost of the emergency need, such as rent, utilities, daycare and medical expenses. Applications will begin to be accepted for this program on March 17, 2023.

Tribal Colleges and Universities

Tribal colleges and universities provide dynamic higher education opportunities, most on or near reservation lands. Known for their remarkable programs, culturally-relevant curricula, and familial student care – tribal colleges allow students to further their careers, attain an advanced degree, or better support their communities.
