Congratulations to Our Graduates!

May 24, 2016

We salute all of our graduates who are embarking on new chapters in their lives with a college degree.

Len Necefer, a College Fund alumnus, is just one of many recent graduates. The new Dr. Necefer successfully defended his dissertation, is an expert on energy policy, and now has a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Engineering and Public Policy.

Iva Croff began her college career at Blackfeet Community College, where she got a heavy equipment certification in order to get a job to help finance a bachelor’s degree to supplement her scholarships from the American Indian College Fund. Iva graduated from the University of Montana with her master’s degree. Next up for Iva is her Ph.D.!

Thanks to the scholarships support and years of hard work, American Indian College Fund scholars go on to become leaders in our communities and their fields. Please join us in acknowledging their hard work and achievements. Please visit standwithnativestudents.org and share your message of congratulations with the hashtag #standwithnativestudents on social media.

For Indigenous peoples, the responsibility to care for the earth and the environments that shaped our cultures is one we have carried for millennia. That commitment to the places that are a part of us persists today in the studies and careers many Native people pursue.
