The Wildhorse Foundation of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation Foundation has announced it is granting $7,000 to the American Indian College Fund to establish seven Native student scholarships at $1,000 each.

To qualify for the award, students must be enrolled members of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation or residents of the Wildhorse Foundation’s giving area, which includes Umatilla, Umpqa, Morrow, Benton, Columbia, and Wallowa counties in Oregon and Washington state.

Richard B. Williams, President and CEO of the American Indian College Fund, said, “We are delighted that The Wildhorse Foundation of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation is helping to further Native education in its community through this grant. Through its generosity, the foundation is creating hope and opportunity for American Indian students at home.”
