For more than 10 years, the Target Corporation has been helping Native American students pursue a college education at tribal colleges and universities. This year, Target has renewed its commitment with a grant of $20,000 to the American Indian College Fund to continue the Target Tribal College Scholarship Program for the 2011-12 academic year.

The Siragusa Foundation of Chicago, Illinois has announced it is renewing a grant of $15,000 to the American Indian College Fund to benefit American Indian student scholarships. The grant will support qualified American Indian students by providing financial resources to encourage them to complete a college degree. With an education, students can build a better life for themselves, their families, and make valuable contributions to their communities and nation.

The Walmart Foundation has announced it is granting $100,000 to the American Indian College Fund for scholarships for Native students for the 2011-12 academic year. Under the program, one $2,500 scholarship will be given to a first-year, first-generation student at each of the 33 accredited tribal colleges nationwide. To qualify for the scholarship, students must be an enrolled tribal member or a descendant, be attending a tribal college, and have a minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average.

The American Indian College Fund (the Fund) has received a challenge grant from the Johnson Scholarship Foundation (JSF). The JSF will match up to $750,000 over the next three years to establish a scholarship endowment which will provide scholarships to American Indian students pursing business or entrepreneurship degrees at mainstream and tribal colleges and universities (TCUs).

MetLife Foundation granted $15,000 this month to continue the MetLife Foundation Tribal College Scholarship Program. Now in its 11th year, this program provides scholarships to Native students attending tribal colleges and universities across the country.

The CIGNA Foundation has granted $29,000 to the American Indian College Fund (the Fund) to support Native scholarships through the Tribal Scholars Healthcare Program. The gift will provide scholarships to Native students studying at select tribal colleges and universities and mainstream institutions.

The American Indian College Fund received a grant from Hilton Worldwide to support the Hilton Worldwide Tribal College Hospitality Scholarship Program for the 2011-12 academic year. Hilton Worldwide, a renowned global leader in the hotel and hospitality industry, will provide scholarships for students studying hospitality or business at Blackfeet Community College, Mont.; Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College, Minn.; or Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, N.M.

The Hershey Company granted $22,000 to the American Indian College Fund (the Fund) for Native student scholarships. The gift will provide scholarships to Native or Native descendant students studying towards a degree in math, technology, science, engineering, and/or business, with preference given to students studying at colleges or universities in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia.

International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT), headquartered in Nevada, granted $25,000 to the American Indian College Fund (the Fund) to support Native scholarships. The gift will provide scholarships to Native students studying at 36 tribal colleges and universities across the United States.

The Coca Cola Foundation and the American Indian College Fund honored 36 American Indian scholarship recipients at its 2010-11 Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship banquet at the American Indian Higher Education Consortium Student Conference in Bismarck, North Dakota.
