American Indian College Fund Receives $10,000 Donation from Eastman Kodak Company

August 10, 2010
The Eastman Kodak Company granted $10,000 to the American Indian College Fund to continue the Eastman Kodak Company Tribal College Scholarship Program for the 2010-2011 academic year. For eight years, this program has been providing scholarships to Native students pursuing degrees in the technology field at tribal colleges and universities.

In addition to supporting the scholarship program, the Eastman Kodak Company also donated digital cameras to all 33 tribal colleges supported by the American Indian College Fund. The cameras are being used by financial aid offices to take photos of scholarship applicants, which are required for American Indian College Fund scholarship applications.

“Kodak is proud to contribute to the American Indian College Fund’s efforts to help educate and develop tomorrow’s leaders,” said Essie L. Calhoun, Chief Diversity and Community Affairs Officer, Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company. “The American Indian College Fund’s tribal colleges and universities are essential resources in ensuring opportunities in higher education for Native Americans.”

“Thanks to the generosity of the Eastman Kodak Company, countless Native students have been able to pursue degrees in the technology field,” said Richard B. Williams, President and CEO of the American Indian College Fund. “These students will now be able to serve their communities and our nation with the valuable knowledge and skills they have gained.”
