March 25, 2015

The American Indian College Fund (the College Fund) has signed Jeff Bridges & the Abiders to perform live at its 25th Anniversary Gala, to be held Saturday, April 11 from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at J.W. Marriot at L.A. LIVE. This formal fundraising event will benefit Native American higher education and celebrate the College Fund’s mission to provide Native American access to higher education.

Jeff Bridges is a legendary actor and producer who won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Otis “Bad” Blake in the 2009 movie Crazy Heart, in which Bridges performed his own singing and added original songs to the soundtrack. Bridges is also a singer, musician, and songwriter. He released his first album, Be Here Soon, in 2000, which featured pop, rock, and country songs. His second album, the self-titled Jeff Bridges, produced by T-Bone Burnett, was released by Blue Note Records in 2011. Bridges has done increasing shows and tours with his band Jeff Bridges & the Abiders (named after his role as the Dude Who Abides in the 1998 cult film The Big Lebowski). The band includes Jeff Bridges (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Chris Pelonis (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Bill Flores (pedal steel, guitar), Randy Tico (upright, electric bass), and Tom Lackner (drums, percussion).

VIP ticket-holders will enjoy a special reception and the opportunity to meet Jeff Bridges.

A silent auction featuring Native art and unique items will also be held at the event.
