Nake Nula Waun – In Honor of Albert White Hat

June 13, 2013

We share with you in deep sadness that Albert White Hat made his journey to the Spirit World on June 11, 2013. Our condolences and prayers are with Albert’s family at this time. As we grieve over our loss of an amazing teacher, spiritual leader, and friend, Albert will never be forgotten. In life, he gave information freely to everyone he met and answered questions whole heartedly. He found life to be cherished and wanted to share his thoughts, ideas, but most of all, to share his time.
Two nights of wakes on Thursday and Friday will be held at Sinte Gleska University, where Albert devoted the last 35 years of his life to teaching Lakota language and traditions.

In honor of Albert, we respectfully share several YouTube videos of him over the years:

About 25 years ago, Albert brought back this Lakota expression: Nake Nula Waun – I am always prepared, anytime, anywhere, for anything. Today and every day, we honor his life and his work. Nake Nula Waun.
