The Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College’s (SCTC) General Educational Development (GED) program allows for flexibility in students scheduling their work and testing times. This is partly what attracted student Lawrence Fuller to the program. Although Lawrence had been out of school for a few years, he came in determined to learn and set personal goals to reach his desired outcome.

Upon his arrival at SCTC, Lawrence set his intention and moved forward quickly with his goals. He scored high on his practice tests and found he only needed to brush up on the mathematics portion of the test. He spent a number of hours on campus working diligently to become stronger in the subject. He passed all his other tests with flying colors while working on his math skills. Lawrence is a proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. He is eager to make a contribution to his community through education. As soon as Lawrence earned his GED in October 2023, he immediately enrolled in college courses to pursue his Associate of Arts in Business.

Lawrence shares, “Success is reaching my own personal goals and dreams. If I work hard toward my goals, my dream to make a long-lasting contribution to the lives of people in my community will come true.” In the future, Lawrence plans on being creative in his career as a college student and keeping his priorities in mind as he continues to work hard on earning his degree.
