Sara Lee Foundation Renews Scholarship Sponsorship with American Indian College Fund

February 27, 2011

The American Indian College Fund received a grant from the Sara Lee Foundation to continue Sara Lee’s Tribal College Scholarship Program for Women for the 2011-12 academic year. This program will continue to provide scholarship support to American Indian females that attend our nation’s tribal colleges and universities and are primary residents of one of the following states: Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.

“We are excited to continue our support of American Indian women and their pursuit of a higher education,” said Judy E. Schaefer, Director of the Sara Lee Foundation. “We are proud of the scholarship program that we have developed with the American Indian College Fund and the positive effects it continues to have on the students, their families, and their futures.”

“It is an honor to receive this continued support from the Sara Lee Foundation,” said Richard B. Williams, President and CEO of the American Indian College Fund. “This gift will allow us to continue to help Native women improve their lives by obtaining a college degree, and we are thankful for this opportunity.”
