The Joseph and Sophia Abeles Foundation, Inc. Donates $15,000 to American Indian College Fund

March 7, 2011

The Joseph and Sophia Abeles Foundation, Inc. has announced it is donating $15,000 to the American Indian College Fund for scholarships for American Indian students.

The Foundation said in a statement, “We support the tribal colleges for the same reason we support our local community college. The tribal colleges enable students to get an education that might otherwise be denied to them. An education is the foundation for the future and provides the basis for all that follows.”

“The continued support of the Joseph and Sophia Abeles Foundation helps to provide scholarships to American Indian students and in turn gives them, their families, and their communities hope,” said Richard B. Williams, President and CEO of the American Indian College Fund.

It is no different for Native peoples, many of whom wait to tell certain stories on long, cold winter nights.
