United Health Foundation Donates $50,000 to American Indian College Fund

Denver, Colorado – For the third year in a row, the United Health Foundation has given $50,000 to the American Indian College Fund (the Fund) to continue providing access to higher education for American Indian students who are committed to improving the health of their communities.

The United Health Foundation Tribal Scholars Program supports scholars at Arizona’s state universities and tribal colleges. Scholarship recipients must have a GPA of 3.0, be studying in a health-related field, have an interest in working in communities with need, and attend Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Tohono O’odham Community College, or Diné College.

“With these scholarships, United Health Foundation is helping to address health disparities and ensure that everyone has access to quality, culturally competent care,” said Jeannine Rivet, UnitedHealth Group executive vice president and interim executive director of United Health Foundation. “Partnering with a respected organization such as the American Indian College Fund to award these scholarships is an effective way to help foster a more diverse health care work force.”
