On Sunday, the College Fund honored this year’s Tribal College and University Students of the Year and Coca-Cola First Generation Scholars. These students represent the values of their TCUs and the determination of all the Native students working to build better futures for themselves and their communities.
The American Indian College Fund (the College Fund) named 12 student ambassadors for 2025-26 to represent its values and mission of providing Native students with access to an affordable, culturally based higher education to revitalize Native communities and cultures.
The American Indian College Fund (College Fund) and other National Native Scholarship Providers (NNSPs), including AISES, Cobell Scholarship Fund, and Native Forward Scholars Fund, are raising awareness of Orange Shirt Day in solidarity with Native people in Canada, where it is observed on September 30 as a federal holiday called the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
A free guide to help Native students seeking a higher education is available from the American Indian College Fund. “Native Pathways: A College-Going Guidebook,” available for download on the College Fund website, offers everything from considerations for choosing a college, an in-depth breakdown of financial aid, how to identify and create a support system, a glossary of terms, and encouragement from elders, faculty, and American Indian College Fund President and CEO, Cheryl Crazy Bull.
It’s never too late to pursue a higher education and it’s never too late for potential Native scholars to apply for funding to make their academic dreams come true through the American Indian College Fund (College Fund). Our application season runs until the funding runs out; however, students who apply by May 31 receive priority.
Tribal college presidents, faculty, staff, and other recent graduates are encouraged to show your support and post your throwback graduation regalia photos as we celebrate our students, our cultures, and our communities together!
The American Indian College Fund honored 34 Tribal College and University Students of the Year and 35 Coca-Cola First Generation Scholars at a ceremony in Rapid City, South Dakota, recognizing their academic achievements and community involvement. Additionally, Dr. Carla Sineway, President of Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College, was named the 2024-25 Tribal College and University President Honoree of the Year, with support from the Adolph Coors Foundation and The Coca-Cola Foundation.
The American Indian College Fund’s (College Fund) scholarship application season for the 2025-26 academic year opens on February 1. There are hundreds of scholarship opportunities available for all fields of study, including special opportunities uniquely available for students enrolled in tribal colleges and universities.
