By 2020, 65 percent of all jobs will require post-secondary education. But only 13.8 percent of American Indians have a college degree – less than half the national average. Fighting this dynamic is the American Indian College Fund, providing direct, focused solutions that enable American Indian youth to succeed in college and beyond.
The American Indian College Fund believes Native scholars at Harvard Law School have what it takes to succeed. A law degree is the foundation to creating strong future leaders. Thanks to a gift of $1 million from an anonymous donor, the American Indian College Fund will award the first American Indian Law School Scholarship in the fall of the 2018-19 academic year.

The American Indian College Fund was awarded the $10,000 grand prize in CPA firm Eide Bailly’s Resourcefullness Award 2017 for Colorado. An independent panel of judges from Colorado non-profits chose the College Fund based on its relationship with for-profit Pendleton Woolen Mills in creating Pendleton’s American Indian College Fund collection.
SIPI students work on their Educational Mobile Rover, ROV-S. ROV-S (SIPI Mars Rover) was fully designed, developed, and manufactured at the SIPI I-C-MARS VIP ROSE STEMS Engineering and Engineering Technology Laboratories.
ROV-S is capable of operating in both semi-autonomous and fully autonomous modes.

In his Facebook post it was clear that the social and economic issues they saw made a powerful impression on them.
Mark Zuckerberg, founder and President and CEO of Facebook, visited the Blackfeet Reservation last week. He posted his impressions about the social, economic, and health issues he encountered last week, including joblessness, substance abuse, diabetes, and more.

As a staff member with the College Fund, I had the honor to attend the spring Scholarship Awards Night at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) to witness 260 students moving one step closer towards their educational goals. The event awarded 534 College Fund scholarships to 260 students totaling $519,906.
Sunny is a student at Leech Lake Tribal College in Red Lake, Minnesota. Through the help of the American Indian College Fund’s Native Pathways to College Transfer Program, she was able to travel to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota for a campus visit.
