Sempra Energy has donated $20,000 to the American Indian College Fund (the Fund) to establish the Sempra Energy Tribal Scholarship Program. The grant will support scholarships for American Indian students pursuing degrees in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programs at tribal colleges and universities in the Southwestern United States. Students studying engineering and mathematics will receive funding preference.

American Indian College Fund Develops Transfer Data Guidebook for TCUs
The American Indian College Fund (College Fund) has published a “Transfer Data Guidebook for Tribal Colleges and Universities.” The guidebook is the culmination of three years of research conducted under a $625,000 grant from the Educational Credit Management Corporation, which examined the transfer landscape of the seven Montana tribal colleges and universities (TCUs) to improve student achievement by creating a cohesive transfer system.

The American Indian College Fund, in collaboration with Alfred Walking Bull of Walking Bull Storytelling + Culture, will host a Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ Guided Discussion on August 26th from 10:00 a.m. – Noon MDT. This free session is open to all Tribal College and University (TCU) administration, faculty and staff, students, and families and will provide an overview of the current landscape of Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ concerns. A question-and-answer session allowing participants to ask anything will be included.
