The American Indian College Fund is excited to share that the U.S. Congress designated the week beginning February 28, 2021 as National Tribal Colleges and Universities Week. The College Fund serves the 35 accredited higher education institutions located on more than 70 campuses in 13 states across the nation, providing them with programmatic and infrastructure support.

The American Indian College Fund invests in Native students and tribal college education to transform lives and communities. The College Fund and its supporters uphold the promise and importance of educational success for Native people and all of our futures.

Nyswander Blanchard Grant Application

In 2012, the American Indian College Fund, with support and funding from Board Member Kim Blanchard and the Nyswander-Manson family, established the Pre-Dissertation Faculty Fellowship Program. The aim of the program is to increase the number of faculty members with a doctorate at the 35 AIHEC-member tribal colleges/universities (TCUs), thus supporting faculty members’ own educational attainment and strengthening TCU academic programs and the cultivation of leaders from within.

The American Indian College Fund and its governing board of trustees is saddened to learn of the death of Robert Bible, President of the College of Muscogee Nation (CMN), a tribal college in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. President Bible was known throughout Indian Country for his selfless dedication to his community and for his outstanding contributions to American Indian higher education with his humility.

American Indian College Fund to Award 10 Tribal Colleges and Universities with Grants for Native Arts Enrichment and Expansion of Existing Programs and Curriculum Development 

The American Indian College Fund is awarding $900,000 in grants to nine tribal colleges and universities for the two-and-a-half-year program to establish new Native arts programs and to expand existing Native arts programs at tribal colleges and universities (TCUs).

The American Indian College Fund and Pendleton Woolen Mills, the international lifestyle brand headquartered in Portland, Oregon, have selected Deshawna Anderson’s “The Courage to Bloom” as its 2020 Tribal College Blanket Contest winner. Anderson is an enrolled member of the Crow nation, an American Indian College Fund scholar, and a student attending Little Big Horn College, a tribal college in Crow Agency, Montana. She is studying business administration.
