Nov 20, 2019 | Blog, IECE - Indigenous Early Childhood Education, Inside the College Fund, Our Programs

Amanda LeClair-Diaz and Tarajean Yazzie-Mintz review research literature that demonstrates Tribal Colleges and Universities’ (TCUs) efforts in Native language revitalization. The review focuses on research of Native language revitalization opportunities in early childhood education and development. A contextual discussion including status of Indigenous languages in the U.S. and rationale for revitalization is also provided, as well as a summary of approaches for TCUs to implement efforts of language revitalization, reclamation, and restoration.
